        Answers to installation problems

  1. Can I copy Shoot & Translate to my own memory card? What do I do if my mobile phone doesn’t have a MicroSD slot (e.g. certain Sony Ericsson devices with a memory stick slot or the N95 8GB)?

Shoot & Translate will be delivered to you on a MicroSD memory card. This memory card can then be simply inserted into your mobile phone and the application installed as described in the instructions. You can also simply copy the Shoot & Translate installation files to your own memory card before installation. To do this, just copy the entire “Linguatec” folder to your memory card. Then insert this memory card into your mobile phone and follow the instructions in the manual.
We recommend that you first connect the MicroDS card provided to your PC using a suitable memory card reader. Then copy the “Linguatec” folder to your hard drive using Windows Explorer. Then insert your own memory card into the memory card reader or connect your mobile phone directly to the PC using a USB cable and copy the “Linguatec” folder from your hard drive to your own memory card and/or the memory of your mobile phone. If desired, the entire application can be copied to other data carriers from the memory card provided.

  2. What do I do if my memory stick for my Sony Ericsson phone does not have enough storage space for the entire application?

In this case, you can install the application without a local dictionary. Every time the dictionary is needed, the dictionary entries being looked up are sent over the Internet from the Linguatec website. You have the complete functionality of Shoot & Translate, only with reduced storage consumption on your memory card.
To do this, copy the two files "S&T… .jad" and "S&T… .jar" in the "Linguatec" folder from the memory card provided to your own memory card. Insert the memory card into your mobile phone and begin installing the application as described in the manual.
